Hoonah Fishing Trip

Family Fishing Trip Alaska 2024

The highlight of my summer in Alaska was when the whole family came up to Juneau for a fishing trip. After flying in we took the ferry out to Hoonah and fished for three day with one extra day for sight seeing. On the way out we saw several humpback whales and other marine life. We caught 21 halibut, one cod, and came home with 150lbs of fish filets. Everyone who dared got to shell their own Dungeness crab. We also saw a brown bear in one of the streams there. Back in Juneau we visited Mendenhall Glacier and DIPAC fish hatchery where we watched the salmon climb up the ladders into the holding tanks. It was a blast.

"Bet I could jump over to that."
"Bet you can't"

After reeling this halibut up from
300 ft, Elidan is excited

Delina is ecstatic to have
caught the only cod

These are a little scrawny but I guess we will keep them
