On The Road Agsin

Wednesday, the mechanic in Ft Nelson fixed the blown sparkplug and then went through each and every plug, taking it out, cleaning it off, then torquing in down. Good thing too because there was another loose one. Al's auto was great to us. Each time he took us right in despite having a full lot before us. I thanked Al and told him I hoped to never see him again. He laughed and said he gets that alot.

Thanks to all of you also for your prayers and other help. We are good again.

We left town at 3:30pm and covered the familiar road to Summit Lake and then Toad River. Finally we were covering new road. Next we hit Muncho Lake, bought 1/4 tank of gas (ouch) and an hour later pulled in to Liard Hot Springs. There were herds of bison along this stretch of road and the next.

The hot springs were a quarter of a mile from the parking lot along a very slippery boardwalk. They were wonderful. So relaxing after our ordeal in Ft Nelson. The water was hot and soothing. The surface seemed to be much warmer than the bottom, three feet down, so you could play with the temperature.  Some spots were hotter than others including one end where the surface was painful to touch, then as you scoot away it feels cool until you get used to the new temperature.

Liard Hot Springs with snow all around.

We could have stayed all night, but after a couple of hours we drove on, covering the next three hours to Watson Lake in the dark with snow falling. We slept in a rest area (yheonly car there) and woke to snow up to the first step on the van.
