More work on the van.

I had most of this past week off. They still pay me, but it looks like they are paying me (for 30 hrs) to work on my van. About 2/3 of the driver's training here will be stationed at Denali and the company is trying to get them through so they can move over there. Those of us staying in Fairbanks have been put on the back burner. So more van work...

I installed a 50v inlet to an 8 slot breaker box. From there I ran 3 20amp lines to outlets in the kitchen (2) and one opposite behind the lift. I ran a 15amp line to the rear of the van with an outlet on both sides--his and hers.
No lights yet. By the time we move in, light will not be a problem--creating darkness will be the problem. Besides Laura needs to help pick out the lights.
I rested the day after that and caught the city bus out to North Pole to mail cards to the grandchildren and get more photos.

I tried to sneak a peak to see which list I was currently on but no luck.

Next I redesigned the van kitchen to make room for a mini fridge and then took a day to walk around down town. There is evidently a thing called gravel pick up. With all the winter snow in Fairbanks they use quite a bit of gravel to provide traction for pedestrians. This gravel piles up until the snow melts away about this time each year. Then the owners go out and sweep, shovel, bulldoze... the gravel up. I witnessed at least 10 people engaged in this strange activity over the last couple of days.

The river is also breaking up and flowing with large chunks of ice.

It was sunny and warm today. 45 degrees never felt so tropical.
